This week we are super excited to “ADD” another string to our bow with Apple App Ads!

The training has been completed, and the tests have been taken. We are now fully qualified and certified to offer Apple App Ads management.

For those of you who are unsure of what these are, if they are of any help to you, or indeed need help with your existing strategy, here are some quick-fire questions and answers all about Apple App Ads.

What are Apple App Ads?

Well, it is actually known as ASA – Apple Search Ads but most people won’t know that so the phrase most likely to be used is Apple App Ads… that’s what we’re running with because we are marketers – *wink.

So, Apple App Ads or ASA are sponsored/paid for Ads which will appear in the App Store on iOS devices.

If you want to push your App sales, paid Ads are the way to promote your App, gain sales, and help you target your key audiences.

Should I invest in Apple App Ads?

70% of App store visitors search for applications to meet their needs. Be that shopping, gaming or something to better their lifestyle.

The Apple App Store has 2.2 million apps available for download (2020), covering many different sectors.

Gaming apps (at the start of 2020) top the charts for downloads at 24.86% share of the active Apps available to download, followed by business 9.77%, education 8.5%, lifestyle 8.32% and on. Health and fitness downloads are likely to rise, given the current pandemic and how it has affected our lives.

With numbers like that to compete with, you have to make sure your investment is given the exposure it deserves, and the cost of that exposure is well-managed.

How much does Apple App Ads cost?

It is totally up to you how much you want to invest in your campaigns. Whilst we all know a good campaign with an impressive budget is going to pay off quicker; we understand that not everyone has deep enough pockets to launch an app like a Coca-cola Christmas commercial.

So as a baseline, you are looking around 0.64 pence per click.

Each campaign will run until your budget ends. So, 0.64 x 1000 clicks is an average of £640 per month.

Although this is an average cost per tap, using this as a baseline to calculate your budget gives you a better understanding of how much you would like to invest.

Can the same apply to apps for Google play store?

As you know, Apple is self-contained, and never the two shall meet. However, although you cannot advertise one campaign using two stores, we can provide management of one, or both accounts.
